We are seeking applications from experienced Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners for a part-time position (0.6 FTE) within our Family Programs team. The role is primarily based in Hobart, however at times, travel to Launceston and the North East of Tasmania may be required.
About the role:
Responsibilities include:
- Mediation intake, risk assessment, suitability screening and interviewing
- Providing a range of interventions to families who are experiencing conflict post-separation
- Conduct mediation sessions utilising a variety of models including solo and co-mediation approaches
- Applying knowledge of the Family Law Act including options for parenting arrangements and financial and property arrangements
- Through assessment, refer clients to other appropriate support services
- Manage sensitive and complex issues with clients experiencing high levels of conflict.
About you:
The successful candidate will have:
- Current registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner with the Attorney General’s Department.
- Current knowledge of the Family Law Act and the relevant FDR regulations and guidelines
- Understanding of the impact of family separation on children and their parents
- Comprehensive understanding of the impact of Family Violence on families
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills, including agreement and report writing.
All applicants are required to undertake a National Police Check, hold a current Working with Vulnerable People’s Card and current driver’s licence.
