Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and South Sea Islander Advisory Committee Members

Pride Foundation Australia

Pride Foundation Australia is seeking applications for identified positions on our new advisory committee.

We are a national philanthropic fund. Our purpose is to grow LGBTQIA+ philanthropy in Australia, and especially to advance equity for Australian LGBTQIA+ communities and individuals most disadvantaged by discrimination and structural inequalities.

We have dedicated funding for a new focus area to support LGBTIQA+ people in Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islander communities. This will be driven by people with lived experience on our advisory committee. We are looking to fill specific gaps in the committee to ensure it is widely representative including:

  • Anyone living in Tasmania or the ACT
  • People who identify as Torres Strait Islander
  • People who identify as South Sea Islander

Members will be appointed for a two-year term, with the possibility of a one-year extension by mutual agreement. Meetings will be approximately every 6 weeks, and members will be paid an honorarium of $50 per meeting. Most meetings will be held via Zoom, with approximately one meeting per year in person. Expenses for attendance at in person meetings will be reimbursed.

More information about the role is available from our board member Jackie Reilly at [email protected] using the subject line: Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and South Sea Islander Advisory Committee Members enquiry via EthicalJobs.

A position description is attached.
