The Role

We are looking for a part-time DES Employment consultant to work in our Burwood office.

As a DES Employment Consultant, you will be responsible for your own caseload of jobseekers and aim to help them to find work or place them within suitable training opportunities in order for them achieve ongoing employment.

Your focus will be to reverse-market your caseload of clients by approaching businesses via phone or meeting in person to enlighten employers about all the countless opportunities your clients have to offer. The aim will be to create mutually-beneficial partnerships, sustainable matches and on a daily basis facilitating small training groups whist achieving your monthly KPI's.

You will possess the ability to empower, encourage and inspire all your clients in equal measure. Sometimes this will involve directing them towards other support services to assist. Other times it may be assisting them with their barriers to work or assisting them with things as simple as their resume preparation or their interview skills. If clients require training or need further assistance on how to get to their dream job, you will help provide them a pathway that they can take to get there.

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • Experience as an Employee Consultant of minimum 1 year
  • Experience in Disability Employment Sector
  • Understanding of Mental Health Conditions
  • Customer focus and solution orientated
  • Ability to meet contractual requirements of the DES Program
  • Passion for helping people and finding outcomes for jobseekers

Preferred but not Essential

  • Certificate or Diploma Disability Services
  • Diploma of Community Service
  • Training and Assessor Certificate IV
  • Psychology Certificate or Degree
  • Sales qualification

You will have or be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance and a Working With Children Check.
