The PBS Practice Leader Justice provides high quality, evidence-based service to clients and professional support to Melior PBS practitioners.

Melior Positive Behaviour Support is a growing team of highly experienced positive behaviour support practitioners.

We work closely with people with a broad range of disability, as well as their families and support workers, to understand why a person uses behaviours of concern to get their needs met.

We are seeking dedicated Positive Behaviour Support - Practice Leader Justice tohelp provide high quality, evidence-based service to clients and professional support to Melior PBS practitioners.

Your duties will include

  • Ensuring positive outcomes for people with a disability and their families
  • Ensuring practice is effectively and efficiently conducted in accordance with PeopleKind Group values, PBS best practice and KPIs
  • Practicing as a core, proficient or advanced PBS practitioner in accordance with the NDIS QSC Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
  • Providing evidence-based PBS to people with disabilities, their families, support providers and other stakeholders using a person- and family- centred approach
  • Ensuring compliance with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (NDIS Act), the NDIS Practice Standards, and the NDIS Rules.
  • Providing assessment and intervention for people involved in the justice system.

What you’ll need

  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a psychologist/provisional psychologist.
  • Post graduate experience and skills in the provision of positive behaviour support to people with a disability and people involved with the justice system.
  • Experience implementing positive behaviour support in formal residential, family and community settings.
  • Knowledge and skills in the practice of positive behaviour support consistent with the NDIS QSC Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.
  • Ability work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in problem-solving and the ability to think innovatively.
  • Experience in delivering training in positive behaviour support to disability support workers, justice workers, families, and other stakeholders though workshops and coaching.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, families and health and justice professionals.
  • Current Australian driver’s licence.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
