No to Violence is Australia’s largest peak body for organisations that work with men that use violence providing training, sector development and advocacy across the sector that works with men who use violence. We also operate the Men’s Referral Service, providing a counselling service and referral pathways directly to men who use violence.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to manage a team of Men’s Family Violence Counsellors (MFVC). The Men’s Referral Service (MRS) Team Leader will be ensuring the MRS counselling and referral services (comprising on-line and telephone counselling services) are delivering quality, professional counselling services which comply with NTV’s clinical governance policies and procedures and contractual obligations.

The MRS Team Leader is responsible for ensuring that all work is rostered appropriately, working in close consultation with the Direct Services Manager

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology, or significant body of:
  • Knowledge and practice-based experience within the family violence sector, or related field (e.g. Graduate Certificate of Social Science, Male Family Violence and Male Family Violence Telephone counselling)
• Significant practice-based experience working within the specialist male family violence sector
• Experienced in leading a team of counselling practitioners, including providing coaching and mentoring support
• A professional level understanding of the social and gendered context of family violence and the impact of violence on women and children
• Demonstrated personal commitment to the practice and principles of non-violence, justice and gender equity issues
