Kingston Centre, located in Cheltenham, is a stand-alone subacute site within Victoria’s largest public health service, Monash Health.

Our Subacute Services at Kingston Centre are comprised of 6 Units, all of whom specialise in a range of services including, but not limited to, Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM), Rehabilitation, Movement Disorders, Neuro Rehabilitation, and the Transitional Care Program (TCP). At Kingston, we promote and encourage our nursing staff to expand on their clinical skills, grow, learn and diversify.
We are currently looking to expand our Rehabilitation Service with experienced Registered Nurses in both Full Time and Part Time capacity with both ongoing and fixed term opportunities.
We look for flexibility with Nursing staff, ideally being available AM, PM and Night Shift on a 7 day rotational roster. At this time we can offer permanent night shift for the right candidates.
With an approach that is goal orientated and individualised for every consumer you will provide support and education to achieve the maximum potential in function and independence for our consumers. You will be responsible for managing complex discharge planning, promoting functional independence and restorative care along with the full scope of Nursing care. With this, brings its own unique challenges as our consumers possess complex medical issues on top of multiple comorbidities.

Communication skills and teamwork are extremely important in this role as you will be working in a diverse team. You show a highly developed emotional intelligence within the care and support you provide. You have compassion towards our consumers, with excellent bedside manners and a can-do approach. Understanding the importance of patient centred care, you have experience within an acute/subacute hospital ward and have a genuine interest in working and interacting with our diverse patients who, at times, can demonstrate challenging behaviours due to previous acquired brain injuries.
Your critical thinking, willingness to learn and ability to work cohesively and share knowledge within a team will see you excel in this role whilst we provide you with guidance, support and training to learn the rhythm of rehabilitation.
