The Nurse Manager is a senior leadership role within the organisation, with responsibility for clinical and operational performance within Unit. The incumbent assists the Director of Clinical Operations and the Director of Nursing to provide outstanding and effective leadership, coordination and management of nursing care and nursing services for the Mental Health Service, specifically for Unit 2 at Dandenong Hospital. The incumbent will have strong leadership and change management skills to implement and support models of care that ensure streamlined and effective access to services, service delivery and coordinated care.
The Nurse Manager is a role model for the core values and purpose of the organisation to ensure achievement of exceptional care and outstanding outcomes. The incumbent supports excellence in interdisciplinary clinical practice and clinical education, and promotes the development of other nurse professionals. The incumbent will develop strong relationships with key stakeholders both within Monash Health and externally. The position requires a broad understanding of the health care system, current and future workforce directions and industrial platforms. The incumbent will possess the ability to think innovatively and strategically to meet challenges, demonstrate professional leadership to achieve all performance targets within budget and ensure the provision of high-quality patient outcomes.
Unit 2 at Monash Health Dandenong is a 25 Bed inpatient unit which sits within the Dandenong AMSH and Young Persons MHS under the Mental Health program. The service provides Youth aged from 16 to 25 years who require Mental Health Short term inpatient management and treatment during an acute or severe phase of Mental illness, through until management within the community is a safe option. Situated in Dandenong, the unit serves a culturally diverse population.
With the provision of a range of therapeutic interventions and programs, both patients and families are able to learn about the impact of illness and explore ways to better manage within their environment with coping strategies as they move toward recovery.
Your demonstrated expert clinical knowledge, skills and significant experience will position you well for success. You relish the opportunity to lead and develop teams and you have proven success in this field. In addition to your superior communication, people and financial management expertise, you are highly proficient with a range of IT applications.
You are formally qualified in Nursing and you hold the relevant professional registrations/memberships. In addition, you have already gained significant postgraduate experience in mental health nursing.
Significant, successful people management experience is a mandatory requirement for this role.
