As the Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager, you'll be vital in our mission to create a bright and sustainable future for the people we support living with a disability to live fabulous lives.
You'll take the helm in steering our safety culture and embedding our health, safety, and wellbeing systems across Melba. By instilling a culture of safety, you'll be shaping the future of Melba and ensuring the well-being of the people we support and our workforce.
This is a permanent hybrid working role based from our offices in Lilydale or Scoresby.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the development and implementation of Health, Safety and Wellbeing initiatives across Melba in line with Health and Safety Strategy 2023.
- Develop key documentation and a complete management system for a safe working environment ensuring compliance with government and NDIS regulations.
- Develop and manage a small cohesive and high-performing team providing coaching and mentoring.
- Build strong relationships with teams across Melba including our service delivery teams instilling trust in Health, Safety and Wellbeing function.
- Review and provide recommendations on our Wellbeing Program implementing improvements as required.
- Work with our Injury Management Coordinator to review our RTW practices, looking for ways to improve the experience for employees and outcomes.
- Provide regular reporting capturing risks, hazards, incidents, injuries, compensation and RTW information. Using these data and insights to provide improvement recommendations.
About You
- Proven experience in a safety leadership role within a complex environment operating in widely dispersed locations.
- Experience in the aged care, health or disability sector (desirable).
- Demonstrated expert knowledge, understanding and application of relevant legislation, standards & frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and pragmatically with a diverse workforce.
- A natural relationship builder with the ability to build strong connections with our purpose driven workforce.
- Ability to lead and inspire a small team of Health, Safety and Wellbeing practitioners.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in HSW, Rehabilitation or related discipline or can demonstrate relevant experience.
- Significant travel across Victoria is required in this role travelling to our sites based in metro Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula, Gippsland, Central Highlands and The Wimmera Region.
You will also bring with you or be willing to obtain:
- NDIS Worker screening Check
- Working with Children Check
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster
- Victorian Drivers License
