The MacDonnell region is located in the centre of Australia. Covering 270,000sq km and with an estimated population approaching 7,000, it has a unique beauty with picturesque water holes, magnificent flora and fauna, red desert sands and rugged mountain ranges.

This position is based in Santa Teresa which is located 85km south east of Alice Springs. Also known as Ltyentye Apurte community. Santa Teresa is home to 555 residents who are mostly local Eastern Arrernte speakers. Services provided at Santa Teresa by MacDonnell Regional Council include cemetery maintenance, rubbish collection and tip maintenance, internal roads maintenance, parks and open spaces and sporting grounds.

This position is a full time role, as the Team Leader - Children's Services, you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the childcare service while acting as the nominated supervisor providing and developing a high quality culturally relevant Early Childhood Education for all children aged from birth to school age.

Our successful candidate will ideally hold a diploma level qualification in Early Childhood and, at least 5 years' experience working with the National Quality Standards while working in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative approach to decision making, the ability to lead, motivate and mentor team members to foster independence while having a strong commitment to Two-Way learning.
