Why this role matters

The position of Concierge and Administration Worker (Casual) will primarily be responsible for the smooth operation of the Front of House area and undertaking a range of administrative tasks and other activities as directed by the Management team.

The Concierge and Administration Worker will work varying shifts over a 24/7 roster covering permanent staff leave, unplanned illness and public holidays. There is no set work schedule for these roles.

The Concierge and Administration Worker (Casual) will work collaboratively with other Concierge and Administration workers, Case Managers and tenancy management teams to ensure the ongoing well-being of 65 formerly homeless residents and 66 low income residents and act as agents on behalf of the landlord after business hours and on weekends.For further information on the role please refer to the position description.

What you'll be doing

In this role you will:
  • Engage with residents in an informal capacity, working from a strength based, client focused customer service framework.
  • Monitor well-being of residents through informal engagement and communicate issues to support and/or tenancy staff as they arise
  • Assist residents, staff and visiting professionals in accessing communal and program spaces within the building
  • Provision of phone concierge services
  • Respond to and report building maintenance issues as they arise
  • Actively engaging in continuous improvement within the team
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships within the team and Launch Housing
  • Participate in regular supervision and annual performance management planning in which service objectives and professional development needs are discussed and determined

What we’re looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and experienced person with a demonstrated capacity to work with people with multiple and complex needs in a permanent housing environment.   The ideal candidate will have or currently completing community services tertiary level training and have a mature and calm outlook on life.
The environment can be challenging and dynamic but also highly rewarding as you will directly witness to achievements of residents. You will actively be able to apply your skills and knowledge and build on your direct client work experience. This role will provide you with an opportunity to work collaboratively with your team members to ensure the ongoing well-being of tenants.
