Life Without Barriers aims to partner with people (including those who have a disability, families and young people in need, in out of home care, who are homeless, who may experience mental illness) to change their lives for the better. We are currently looking for casual Support Workers who are interested in providing high quality, flexible support with a focus on enhancing the lives of children and young people in Out of Home Care and people with a disability in Maryborough and Hervey Bay.

You will work within a team based environment to facilitate delivery of quality services to achieve positive outcomes for our clients. You will contribute to the development and implementation of a range of individual, therapeutic, recreational or skills-development activities that are consistent with and supportive of each child or
person living with a disability.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Certificate III in Community Services, or similar, or willingness to complete this within first 2 years of employment.
  • A current Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • A current unrestricted Driver Licence.
  • A commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities and children and young people.
  • Written and oral communication skills of a high order.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
  • Established problem solving and conflict management skills.

Ability to use initiative and to work both individually in supporting clients and as part of a team.
