About the Job

We are looking for a friendly, self-starter with gardening and maintenance experience to join our Aged, Chronic Care and Allied Health team, full time or part time, providing general garden maintenance and minor maintenance for clients of our ASSIST Home Maintenance service. An understanding of the needs of older people in our community and people living with a disability is also an important part of this role. Award Level 2: Gardening and Landscaping Services (2010). Charity sector tax concessions available, uniform, tools & equipment, and work ute provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing gardening and maintenance services.
  • Discussing and assessing individual client needs in order to set up a tailored garden plan for the client.
  • Completing site risk assessments and complying with WHS policy, procedures and safe work practices.

Physical Demands and Role Requirements

This position requires extensive physical activity eg: frequent lifting and turning, working at heights.

To work with Belong BM and so we can meet our funding requirements, you will need to have (or be willing to get) triple vaccinations for Covid-19, working with children check, and a police check.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience in this type of job role: minimum 2 years
  • Requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade
  • Practical knowledge of plants plus experience in using general garden machinery
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations applicable to this role
  • Skills in general gardening and maintenance and an understanding of applying quality control techniques
  • Good project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment
  • A genuine desire to serve the needs of customers with a strong personal responsibility for achieving customer satisfaction
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
  • High integrity and honesty in all dealings
  • Current Driver’s License
