Health, Safety and Wellbeing Business Partner - Launch Housing

Independent Recruitment Consultancy

About us

Launch Housing has an ambitious and singular mission to end homelessness. We aim to get people housed, keep them housed, and be an influential voice on ending homelessness. We are a secular, independent provider of choice for clients and the 'go to' organisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community.

About the role

Reporting to the People and Workforce Development Manager and working within a passionate and highly engaged People Team, you will coordinate and manage safety processes, procedures and compliance across 14 sites.

Whilst keeping on top of and enhancing the day to day nuts and bolts of compliance, incident management, reporting and risk mitigation, you will also have the opportunity to build relationships across the organisation with site-based Health and Safety Reps, staff and Managers. You will engage, inform, support and inspire them with mentoring, practical tools, information and initiatives that underpin and enhance a culture of physical and psychological safety. There is real scope to develop projects and initiatives that impact positively on workplace processes, procedures and culture and to contribute at both a ‘hands-on’ operational and strategic level. The role has no direct reports - so you are going to have to be comfortable rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in.

Key requirements

You are passionate and knowledgeable about health, safety and wellbeing and most importantly have the service orientation, people and communication skills to really engage with our staff and make us wonder how we ever got along without you. You also have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and substantial experience in a similar role – ideally within the community sector
  • Comprehensive and contemporary knowledge of Health and Safety legislative requirements
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and report writing skills
  • A highly collaborative approach to working with others and effective training, presentation and representation skills
  • The ability to identify, develop implement and evaluate new initiatives that support key strategic objectives
