About Us

ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability works with over 2500 cities in more than 125 countries. ICLEI Oceania has a network of 75 towns and cities in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. We help to drive urban sustainability and resilience, with particular strengths in climate change, disaster risk reduction and nature-based solutions and a strong advocacy program to other levels of government.

The Opportunity

ICLEI is pivoting to become the prime partner for local governments in sustainability planning and action across the Five ICLEI Pathways of Low Emissions, Resilient, Nature-Based, Circular and People-Centred Development. To deliver these programs we work with a range of partner organisations. This role will coordinate our relationship with partners and assist to find and deliver new funding and partnering opportunities.

We Are Seeking

Someone who is passionate about sustainable urban development and who has a good feel for how local governments work. Someone who already has extensive networks and contacts in this field and who is interested in working domestically but also in New Zealand and the Pacific. Someone who understands the vital linkages between local action and global priorities and frameworks. Someone who is comfortable advocating to government departments and ministers and who loves running hybrid and in-person events.
