About the role:

The Holy Cross Facilitator/Support Worker will work alongside our employees with disability to assist them to grow in their employment journey. The position plays a critical role in providing support, encouragement and delivering skill development opportunities to assist supported employees achieve their goals and create lasting change in their lives. As a Facilitator/Support Worker you will engage in the delivery of high quality social and employment outcomes.

Our Facilitators/Support Workers have a passion for assisting people with disability to achieve their employment goals. Whilst working for Holy Cross Services you will develop trusting relationships with people who have a disability, providing information, support and skill development to help them succeed.

  • Contribute to the ongoing design and growth of the program, including the development of on-going resources
  • Ensuring that all activities reflect the mission, philosophy and values in the spirit of the Sisters of Mercy and Holy Cross Services
  • Liaise with other HCS staff to understand a person’s unique skills
  • Prepare and maintain goal setting records
  • Assist in the provision of one on one and group training to Supported Employees providing an appropriate level of support in an individual
  • Provide support on-the-job support, support to complete other work-related responsibilities, personal hygiene assistance, behavioural management and assistance during breaks
  • Providing training for Supported Employees to complete production work to meet customer and production demands.

Essential requirements:

  • Current Drivers Licence
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • A Safety Workplace Culture mindset
  • Current Certificate III in Disability / Individual Support or a willingness to attain this qualification within a 12-month period
  • Accreditation as a trainer or facilitator is highly regarded but not essential
