With over 85,000 registered users and support workers in communities all across Australia, Hireup is a national network of local supports. The Hireup team is focused on delivering a quality experience for our users, at the heart of which is our Service team. Comprised of our Community Support, Trust and Safety and Incident Response teams, the Service team is responsible for the wellbeing and satisfaction of our users. As frontline staff, our Service team listens with intent and responds with integrity in its efforts to ensure our users feel heard, supported and satisfied.

Reporting to our Head of Service, our Employee Relations Manager works to keep Hireup’s community of disability support workers safe and satisfied. You will have an innovative, people-centred approach to building inclusive and scalable employee experiences.

Priorities - the work

  • Develop and implement practices in relation to escalated case management, dispute prevention and settlement, mediation and investigations
  • Provide advice and coaching to our Service team to empower them to liaise directly with our Support Workers on performance matters
  • Identify, prototype and project manage wellbeing initiatives for our support workers
  • Act as a final decision maker on individual employment decisions for Hireup support workers
  • Provide support to Hireup’s employment model strategy, liaising with internal stakeholders and Hireup’s community to ensure we implement an effective pilot for a groundbreaking permanent employment model
  • Lead projects and initiatives to ensure that support workers and clients understand the SCHADS award and how it applies to them
  • Play a lead role in other strategic and cross-functional projects as we continue to grow

Skills - the person

  • Strong knowledge and experience in Human Resources and Employee Relations
  • A focus on creating structures and experiences that unlock the potential of employees
  • Experience delivering end-to-end people initiatives in fast-moving, high-performing teams
  • Experience in leading and driving projects to completion with a focus on quality and integrity
  • A collaborative and can-do approach with the ability to work cross-functionally and think strategically to build new solutions
  • Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to build effective relationships and get to the core of matters with a sense of clarity
  • Strong connection to, or interest in building an understanding of the Australian disability sector and community
  • Approach work with high-energy, drive and internal motivation
  • Exhibit adaptability, resilience, transparency, trustworthiness, passion and innate curiosity
