About the role

The Hawks Community Foundation is seeking to appoint a Community Coordinator – Social Inclusion on a 12-month contract.

Reporting to the Community Manager, this role will be responsible for the delivery of programs within the Social Inclusion pillar of the Foundation’s community framework.

Key responsibilities include:

The Community Coordinator – Social Inclusion will work collaboratively to deliver key programs that are aligned to our community strategy in areas including Melbourne, Gippsland, NT and Tasmania.

With an emphasis on stakeholder management, this role will establish and maintain strong relationships between social inclusion partners and the Foundation to ensure the effective delivery of engaging programs and content across the social inclusion pillar.

This role will also:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships between social inclusion partners to ensure the effective delivery of engaging programs and content across the social inclusion pillar including;
    • AFL Blind and Wheelchair AFL Programs
    • Hidden Disability Program
    • Inclusive Schools Program
    • Inclusion Game
    • Lead Social Connection project with Inclusive Football programs such as FIDA, Red Dust Heelers and AllPlay
  • Collaborate with the broader community team and internal stakeholders to support the delivery of social inclusion outcomes across the other community pillars – Indigenous & Health and Wellbeing

The ideal candidate

You have excellent relationship building skills backed by relevant tertiary study or experience in community programs, youth work, education, or health promotion.

An excellent communicator, you can quickly build rapport, engage with diverse groups, and build effective relationships at all levels and with people from diverse backgrounds. You have exposure to a community-based organisation or charity, with demonstrated experience working with and implementing diversity and inclusion principles.

You are values driven and able to work collaboratively in a fast paced and evolving industry.
