At Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP), we believe a better world is possible and we’re determined to make it real. We are an independent campaigning organisation, powered by people and creative action, taking on the biggest environmental and climate challenges of our time. Our priorities are:
tackling climate change by phasing out of the biggest source of planet-heating emissions - fossil fuels - so we can build a clean energy future right here in WA; and
protecting nature, including our oceans and forests, by stopping the largest sources of environmental destruction like industrial fishing and deforestation.
Whatever your role at GPAP, you’ll be part of something bigger: a passionate global movement that sparks action, holds decision‑makers to account, and drives lasting change for people and the planet. This is an opportunity to use your skills, creativity, and commitment to help shape a future worth fighting for.
Our primary goal is to bring down the might of the fossil fuel order standing in the way of a sustainable future and we need your help to do it. This role works within the Climate and Energy team, and supports our Nature campaign when WA issues intersect. You'll contribute to major projects that challenge offshore gas expansion and promote renewable energy alternatives.
This role will report to the Western Australia Lead and will collaborate with cross-functional teams on key projects and initiatives. This will include partnering with other campaigners, political and advocacy specialists, digital and engagement experts and more.
As Assistant Campaigner, you’ll play a vital role in implementing GPAP’s campaigns to shift WA away from fossil fuels and safeguard its unique ecosystems. You’ll help influence decision makers through smart advocacy, creative events, and strategic communications, delivering real impact on key climate and energy issues.
You’ll coordinate campaign activities, strengthen partnerships, and mobilise supporters to achieve change on the ground.
Key responsibilities include:
You’re a driven, resourceful campaigner with a passion for environmental justice and social change. You thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative environment and have the initiative to find creative solutions.
You’ll ideally also have:
We recognise that sometimes the right person for a job is based on personal qualities and not just qualifications. If you are not sure whether you are qualified, we would strongly encourage you to make an inquiry or go ahead and apply.
Annual full-time salary: $81,945.90 per annum plus 12% superannuation.
GPAP is an equal opportunity employer with a longstanding commitment of providing a work environment that respects the dignity and worth of each individual. We recognise and value the benefits and strengths that diversity brings to our employees and the whole organisation and we thrive in an environment that encourages respect and trust.
Note: Not all responsibilities and competencies listed in the Job Description need to be addressed; it is left to the discretion of the applicant which to focus on.
We respectfully request that Recruitment Agencies do not submit applications for this position.
