Glen Eira Adult Learning Centre Inc (GEALC) is seeking a part-time Compliance Coordinator (15 to 20 hours a week) on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. The position will contribute significantly to the organisation’s effectiveness and ongoing success as a community-based registered training organisation.

GEALC is an award-winning not for profit community-based Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Learn Local organisation and an Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) provider. GEALC provides quality, affordable, accessible education for adults to achieve their full potential and extend their involvement in activities in the community and has five main areas of activity:

  • English as an Additional Language (EAL) and literacy training
  • Computer training including Microsoft Office programs, iPad training and digital technology
  • Skill development training including Medical Reception, Health Services, Early Childhood Education, Job Ready and MYOB
  • Personal development programs including health and well-being programs
  • Community engagement events (celebrating diversity and inclusion).

Working closely with GEALC’s Manager, the Compliance Coordinator will be involved in a System Management and Review Project which aims to reinvigorate GEALC’s current policy and procedural management system.The project will deliver a refreshed management system containing:

  • Files and documents which are updated and relevant
  • Files which are more easily located through improved alignment, storage, linking and naming
  • A useful and current version control system.

The Compliance Coordinator is also responsible for the ongoing coordination of the Compliance Management System including:

  • Reviewing and maintaining existing policy and procedural documentation
  • Developing and maintaining continuous improvement plans, schedules, quality control and version control of documents relating to RTO compliance
  • Ensuring adherence to AQTF and VRQA requirements
  • Advising staff on compliance issues
  • Providing support and guidance to staff and ensuring an active approach in minimising compliance risk
  • Assisting Manager with internal and external audits, extensions of scope and funding applications
  • Ensuring GEALC is complying with all funding contracts and State & Federal legislations.
