Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth and their families to access practical services and supports to build knowledge, strength, and capacity of their families and to provide the necessary environment to optimise the trajectory of health and wellbeing of all members of the family unit;
The delivery of support in a manner that ensures meaningful engagement of the person in all decision making, with a bias toward building individual capability to participate in and lead the coordination of their own support; and
To facilitate the development of case plans in consultation and active involvement from the young person and their families from a strengths based approach to address the immediate to long term needs identified, including but not limited to, substance misuse, family relationships, living situations, re-offending behaviours and the overall promotion of health and emotional and social wellbeing for families.
Qualifications / Experience
Qualifications in a relevant field and/or relevant experience including social work, psychology, social sciences or related clinical field
Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families, including intensive case management, trauma informed practice and community engagement/development programs.
Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld) and the ability to travel across remote communities as required.
Current Blue Card (working with children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card.
