The University of Melbourne Graduate Student Association (GSA) is the independent representative organization for all graduate coursework and research students at the University of Melbourne. GSA is led by an elected Board of 8 graduate students, and on behalf of over 30,000 constituents represents graduate student interests to the University and wider community, provides facilities and services, delivers events and activities to promote graduate student community and academic excellence, and supports 150 affiliated graduate student groups.

About the role

The Student Engagement Officer has the responsibility to work with the Manager Student Engagement and execute the operational plan in relation to the Graduate Groups Program annually. The role will assist with the development and evaluation of the plan. The role will have primary responsibility in the team to work with the Communication Team and further develop the Marketing Plan to support the establishment and promotion of all graduate groups.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Minimum of three years' experience undertaking community engagement.
  • Experience undertaking planning and evaluation.
  • Experience in events/activities management.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of operations of clubs, societies, and/or incorporated associations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and skills of Microsoft Office Skills with a particular focus on Excel skills.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
