About the Role

Good Shepherd’s Communications and Marketing team is a small, high-impact function supporting organisational strategy, connection and change. As the Communications Advisor, you’ll provide expert communications support across the organisation, working closely with leaders and teams to strengthen our voice and engagement.

This role is ideal for an adaptable and creative communicator who enjoys working across media, internal communications, digital content and social media. 

What you'll be doing

  • Support delivery of the Internal Communications Plan and produce clear, engaging staff communications
  • Create newsletters, all-staff updates and intranet content, and assist with change communications
  • Coordinate internal events and recognition activities, including the Lunch & Learn program
  • Contribute to proactive and reactive media activity, including drafting media materials and maintaining media contacts
  • Develop content for media, web and social channels, translating complex information into accessible messages
  • Update and optimise website content and support SEO, SEM and digital campaigns
  • Deliver social media content plans for diverse audiences
  • Support reporting and insights across internal, media and digital communications

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, PR or a related field. 
  • Experience in media relations, PR or journalism, with excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver creative, effective communications.
  • Experience planning, delivering and reporting on communications or media campaigns.
  • Confident using MS Office, SharePoint and MailChimp, with bonus skills in Adobe, Canva, analytics tools, CMS, CRM or SEO/SEM.
  • Able to work collaboratively across teams and contribute to consistent, high-quality communications.
