WEstjustice is a multidisciplinary, community-based legal centre committed to improving justice outcomes for the people of western Melbourne, and especially the most vulnerable in our community. It was formed in July 2015 through the amalgamation of the Footscray, Wyndham and Western Suburbs Community Legal Centres, which brought a long and proud history and experience to the new organisation.

Both roles will provide in reach and outreach criminal and civil legal services to children and young people aged 10-25 in diverse settings including at youth service hubs, residential care homes and schools.
The legal work includes advice, case work, in court advocacy and developing and delivering community legal education. You will also contribute to law and policy reform activity and the achievement of our strategic advocacy priorities that aspire for excellent legal, including life, outcomes.
You will be based at our Sunshine office but be required to work across our other offices in the Western suburbs (Footscray and Werribee) and outreach sites and report to the Program Manager/s.
Our ideal candidates are people who are admitted to practice, have demonstrated criminal law practice experience and ability to engage and communicate effectively with children and young people, many of whom have experienced childhood disadvantage, discrimination and trauma. The ideal candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to engage with a range of cross sector stakeholders.
Salary range - $$91,429 for a lawyer p.a. or $95,000 to $99,867 for a senior lawyer plus employer funded superannuation in accordance with Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 (Cth). In addition, generous salary packaging is available (including access to Accommodation and Meal Entertainment packaging).
