About the Role

Please note this is a parental leave position up to 12 November 2024.

Functional Accountabilities include:

  • Oversee a case load of clients in conjunction with the Psychological Business Partner through provision of comprehensive and agile psychological services responsive to the needs of FRV.
  • Contribute to the design, development, integration and delivery of psychological programs, services, practices, policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership to the Psychological Business Partner to ensure objectives and performance targets are met, including coaching, mentoring and performance monitoring.
  • Provide on call services as part of a rotating roster of clinical staff which includes providing clinical supervision to the Peer Support Officers.
  • Oversee a portfolio of group based psychological education and wellbeing screening of staff (wellbeing checks), and provide solution focused, strength-based treatment (as required) across regions and districts.
  • Provide specialist support and coaching to FRV staff including advice to a range of diverse stakeholders including Commanders, Assistant Chief Fire Officers, management, committees and working parties, to deliver best practice mental health and wellbeing services.

About you

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Full unconditional registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • AHPRA registration as a Board Approved Supervisor (desirable).
  • Extensive experience as a mental health professional.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing psychological counselling services / to Emergency Services / Agencies (operational and/or corporate) (Desirable).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Emergency Services organisations and issues related to these working environments, in particular trauma risks (including PTSD, high prevalence disorders, substance use disorders and relationship issues) and organisational culture issues - (desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate sensitively and effectively with clients also within different levels of organisational structures and with external stakeholders.
  • Current valid driver's license.
