We are currently seeking expressions of interest for the Department of Health’s Human Research Ethics Committee.

The Department of Health’s Human Research Ethics Committee ensures the ethical acceptability of research conducted, commissioned, or carried out under the auspices of the Department of Health or the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.

The Committee adheres to the standards set by the NHMRC’s National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research. The Chair exercises a leadership role to ensure that the Committee operates effectively.

Recruitment is underway for the Chair position. The appointment is for a period of three years. Re-appointment is possible.

Applicants should be familiar with the National Statement and the application of ethical standards to academic and programmatic research and evaluations.
