Embark on a career as a Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P) Ranger, helping conserve Queensland’s protected areas and biodiversity, with a strong focus on respecting First Nations peoples’ cultural values. QPWS&P Indigenous Employment - Stronger Together!

Indigenous Rangers play a vital role in land and sea management, keeping connection to Country and culture strong by combining traditional and western knowledge for future generations. We are committed to partnering with First Nations communities, incorporating their perspectives into decision-making, and maintaining an inclusive, respectful workplace that reflects the community we serve.

If you’re passionate about conserving parks, forests, and wildlife, and want ‘the great outdoors’ to be your office, we want to hear from you!

As a Ranger, you could work in the outback, rainforests, mountains, reefs, or coastal islands. No two days are the same - work may include patrolling parks, maintaining facilities, repairing tracks, engaging with visitors, preserving Cultural Heritage sites, protecting threatened species, conducting planned burns, controlling invasive species, delivering education and compliance programs, or managing wildlife rehabilitation and rescues in remote areas.
