About the Role

Working closely with our Team and other Practice Leaders, you will lead our team of experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners ensuring a high level of Specialist Behaviour Support across 4 sites in Southeast Queensland. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage our people and clients to be the best they can be and deliver an exceptional customer experience. Other duties will include:

  • Responsibility for all components of Behaviour Support and Clinical Services delivery including mentoring your team and ensuring services are delivered to NDIS participants according to best clinical practice and within the scope of each person’s plan
  • Be the point of contact for providers, the NDIA, Quality and Safeguards Commission and the OPG
  • Mentoring Team Leaders reporting to you, creating a positive team culture and working together to meet targets whilst ensuring best practice
  • Develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders including clients, their families, guardians and all staff

About You

You will ideally have knowledge of and experience in working with people with intellectual disability who have complex and challenging behaviours. You will also have a strong understanding of good clinical practice, the jurisdictional requirements in Queensland as they relate to Positive Behaviour Support and the context in which Behaviour Support is provided, including for people subject to restrictive interventions. You will also have:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications such as: Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or similar areas of Social and Behavioural Sciences
  • Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching experience and demonstrated ability to drive results at an individual and team level
  • Commission registered Practitioner ID graded at Proficient, Advanced or Specialist level
  • Experience writing PBSPs in accordance with plan hours
  • An understanding of the commercial environment in which NDIS providers operate
  • Commitment to the highest possible quality on providing positive behaviour support and the ability to communicate that to their team
  • High level computer skills and experience using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willingness and availability for some travel

Additional requirements:

  • Right to Work in Australia i.e., Australian/NZ Citizen, Permanent Resident or Visa with permission to work
  • A current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker's Screening Check, or the willingness to gain these clearances if successful
  • A current and valid Driver’s Licence
  • Willingness to undertake a "Fit2Work" Police Check
  • To ensure the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers, Community Solutions Group requires all authorised workers as defined under the QLD Public Health Order to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19
