About The Role

Lead the Future of Family Health in Melbourne! 

The Family Health Coordinator  role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced Maternal and Child Health professional who has leadership experience to shape service excellence in a capital-city environment. 

You will use your exceptional leadership experience to guide and empower our talented Family Health Team. In this pivital role, you will drive clinical governance,  shape service planning and integration, and foster a high-performing, constructive culture across the workforce.

Your leadership will help set the standard for high-quality, customer-centred family health services across Melbourne.

In this role you will build capability and resilience within the team; lead service development aligned with reform and growth; champion collaboration and innovation to deliver impactful outcomes for families, strengthen public health services, and support the strategic goals of the City of Melbourne.

  • Provide system-level clinical governance and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead business, workforce and service-model planning aligned to reform and growth.
  • Strengthen integration across Family and Children Services at the City of Melbourne.
  • Build capability, culture and performance across the Family Health workforce.
  • Ensure services are responsive, inclusive and accessible to Melbourne’s diverse and rapidly growing communities, supporting equitable outcomes for all families.

About you

You must be a values-driven leader who brings extensive leadership expertise in child and family health, with strong capability in clinical governance, systems thinking and people leadership.

You may also be:

  • A confident collaborator who can influence across government and the sector.

What your experience might look like - Key Selection Criteria

  • Current AHPRA registration as a division 1 Registered Nurse and Midwife, plus MCH qualifications.
  • Expertise in child and family health nursing, including translating evidence into service models.
  • Experience leading teams through people leaders, with strong workforce development capability.
  • Proven ability to implement service improvements, policies, and quality frameworks.
  • Experience in financial and business planning within a complex service environment.
