• Hours: Part time up to 0.6 FTE negotiable. Flexible hours.

ABOUT CORENA

Established in 2013, CORENA (Citizens’ Own Renewable Energy Network Australia) is a not-for-profit organisation that empowers individuals and communities to take climate action through implementing practical climate projects. This is achieved through a donations-based revolving fund, whereby CORENA provides interest free loans and project support to eligible not for profit organisations for effective climate projects such as solar PV, energy efficiency, getting off fossil gas and electric vehicles. The recipient organisation repays the loan from the savings generated by the climate project, replenishing the fund. To ensure maximal climate benefits, CORENA targets projects that otherwise wouldn’t happen (due to financing or implementation barriers), have strong carbon abatement metrics, economic repayment periods and contribute to supporting the energy transition.

CORENA’s revolving fund has proven its power with continued growth over the past 12 years. We have now funded over 60 projects ranging in size, value and climate impact from $5,000 to $150,000, with the fund continuing to grow year-on-year. CORENA is currently undergoing an exciting growth phase and we are looking for a Giving and Engagement Manager who is energised by CORENA’s mission to take on this key role within the organisation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Giving and Engagement Manager will increase CORENA’s impact by growing and retaining our broad community of partners, supporters, donors and volunteers.

• Lead our management committee to review and update our fundraising strategy including setting goals and KPIs that allow CORENA to achieve its vision set out in our strategic plan.

• Communicate our impact to our community via new individualised and existing communications.

• Seek new corporate and philanthropic partners in line with CORENA’s donor policies.

• Draft our donor communications and website content to engage and inform our community of supporters as well as maximise leads and conversions.

• Support our social media content creator to deliver strategic digital communications.

• Implement and manage business systems to expand, retain and uplift existing donors within our community of supporters.

• Seek out and apply for relevant grant opportunities as they arise.

• Participate in reviewing our branding and graphic design.

• Track and analyse donor trends, using the insights to further refine our fundraising approach.

• Undertake other duties as required to support the effective operation of CORENA.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The preferred candidate will have a passion for practical climate solutions and be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• 5+ years previous experience in marketing, communications, philanthropy, fundraising, or similar roles.
• Experience in preparing and implementing strategic plans to meet fundraising goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to identify key donor messages for communications.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• Ability to work remotely with a high degree of autonomy.
• A passion for CORENA’s purpose and addressing climate change.
• Experience in climate philanthropy (desirable)
