Senior Campaigner - Nature

Conservation Council of WA

Western Australia is home to some of the most unique and biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, and this role sits at the forefront of efforts to protect them. As Senior Campaigner with the Conservation Council of Western Australia, you will play a critical part in shaping the state’s conservation movement during a pivotal time. Through strategic campaigning, you will help defend threatened ecosystems, influence stronger environmental laws, and mobilise communities to take collective action.

This part-time (0.8 FTE) maternity leave cover is more than a role. It’s an opportunity to deliver tangible impact for nature by strengthening advocacy efforts and amplifying people power across the state. If you are an experienced campaigner driven to create lasting change, this is your chance to help steer campaigns that protect Western Australia’s natural heritage for generations to come.

About CCWA

At CCWA, we have been championing Western Australia’s natural environment for more than 50 years. As the state’s leading independent, not-for-profit environmental organisation, we work collaboratively with government, industry, media, community groups, Traditional Owners, and political leaders to drive meaningful environmental change. With a bold vision for a flourishing natural environment and a safe climate, we focus on conservation, climate action, citizen science, and hands-on programs that protect our unique landscapes, species, and ecosystems.

About the role

As the Senior Campaigner for our Nature Program, you will play a key role in developing and delivering strategic campaigns to protect and restore Western Australia’s unique natural environment. Working closely with the Program Manager, you will help plan and implement campaign strategies that mobilise communities, influence decision makers, and strengthen environmental protections across the state.

You will support the coordination of campaign activities including communications and digital content creation, community engagement, events, and volunteer mobilisation. The role also involves building strong relationships with CCWA member groups, community groups, stakeholders and partners, while helping to grow a powerful movement advocating for stronger nature laws and greater protection for ecosystems, habitats and species in Western Australia.
