We believe housing is a basic human right that affords people dignity. Everyone has a right to a home and it is our job to make this happen.
This is a rewarding and challenging role for someone who wants to contribute to our mission to end homelessness.
Launch Housing has an ambitious and singular mission to end homelessness. We aim to get people housed, keep them housed, and be an influential voice on ending homelessness.
We are a secular, independent provider of choice for clients and the go-to organisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community. Launch Housing is a strong, single, focused voice on homelessness driven by the values of Empowerment, Fresh Thinking, Agility, Leadership, and Courage.
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Outreach Worker to join the Rough Sleeper Initiative team, which is aimed at assertively engaging with and supporting people sleeping rough in the inner metro. This program provides a response for people who are hard to reach, entrenched and who may have complex needs.
The Outreach Worker will work closely with a number of service providers to deliver an assertive and persistent street level approach to outreach in order to identify, engage and work with clients to achieve sustainable outcomes; primarily rapid access to housing and intensive support, to assist clients to settle into their housing.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, take accountability for their work outcomes and be able to form and maintain strong relationships; all essential ingredients to working collaboratively with clients and other organisations to achieve common goals. The candidate should also have demonstrated understanding of the principles of case management and housing service system and also demonstrated ability to build positive rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
All applicants must have the right to work in Australia and will be required to complete a Working with Children check and Police check. Launch Housing is an Equal Opportunity employer and supports accessible working arrangements for all.
