This is an outstanding opportunity with a highly respected charity for an experienced Major Gifts Manager with a track record of working with Major Donors. Supporting the Deputy National Director, your role will be to develop profitable and execute the strategy to increase support from Major, Middle donors, PAFs, Trusts and Foundations and bequests.

It offers the opportunity to execute your expert relationship building and engagement skills in conjunction with your keen writing and communication skills, translating the mission and direction of the agency into winning proposals and relationships, inspiring support for their work. It is also an opportunity to utilise your leadership/management skills as you will manage one direct report. This is not the kind of role that becomes available every day!

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Deputy National Director to develop and implement strategies to achieve targets
  • Solicit new philanthropic relationships through building relationships with family members, Directors and Trustees of T&Fs as well as submitting targeted funding proposals
  • Work with internal executive team and UNHCR Global to identify key projects and reporting for Major Donor support
  • Manage Donor Development Coordinator
  • Raise philanthropic funds for the organisation to specified fundraising targets
  • Develop propositions and communication channels to attract and retain support from a defined segment of prospects
  • Provide analysis and progress reports
  • Provide and lead specialised donor care/customer service expertise to the overall team
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field (Fundraising, Marketing, Communications viewed favourably) but not essential
  • Substantial strategic and operational experience in major donor role with proven ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with a background in professional fundraising (through major gifts/ Private Ancillary Funds)
  • Proven ability to think strategically and create communication materials and funding proposals for Trusts, Foundations and Private Ancillary Funds
  • Exceptional communication & collaboration skills with strong influential capabilities
  • Self-motivated, good problem solver and enjoys managing multiple tasks and goals with a presence/gravitas
  • High level management skills and experience including project management and effective time managemen

You will be known for your exceptional relationship management, engagement and influential capabilities, be approachable, dynamic, creative and results orientated with the ability to handle complexity and extremely proactive.
