About the role 

Partner with the Humanitarian division of Red Cross to provide legal advice and assistance in all legal matters, and support complying with all laws and regulations to ensure that our humanitarian objectives are met. This position will report into the Society Secretary and General Counsel. It requires a lawyer with substantial in-house experience and who thrives on working in a dynamic environment with a diversity of legal work. A key focus will be supporting Red Cross’ transformation journey.  Experience of providing legal advice on IT matters is valued.

What you will bring 

  • Bachelor of Laws or equivalent degree in law and substantial post qualified experience within corporate or NFP in-house legal practice, public service, business administration, community services or related fields
  • Considerable experience from an in-house or private practice environment
  • Proven ability to provide legally sound, independent, timely and practically appropriate legal advice taking account of alternative approaches and solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a collaborative environment with limited direction from senior employees
  • Excellent communication and an ability to build strong relationships
