About the role

The Senior Advisor - Assurance and Compliance supports senior leaders to establish and maintain effective assurance and compliance management strategies.

This role is pivotal in facilitating the establishment and maintenance of risk-based decision making, based on quality and reliable risk and compliance information. To achieve this, you will guide senior leaders in validating the effectiveness of their control environment utilising contemporary assurance approaches.

You will be responsible for driving the operationalisation of Red Cross assurance, compliance and accreditation management frameworks in alignment with Red Cross risk governance requirements.

You will work closely with senior leadership teams, line managers and staff to build capability and support Red Cross people and teams to fulfil their broader risk and compliance management obligations.

What you will bring

• Comprehensive technical knowledge and expertise in assurance and compliance
• Ability to utilise a variety of techniques to effectively communicate technical assurance and compliance concepts to operational teams 
• High level of specialist technical knowledge to analyse multiple datasets to identify trends and anomalies to support sound risk-based decision making
• Ability to apply broad-based thinking, identify interdependencies and thematic concerns when determining solutions
• A Working with Children Check or Working with Vulnerable People Check is required for this role
