About the role

Reporting to the CIO, the Information Security Manager is responsible for implementing and running the enterprise information security and compliance program. That will involve identifying, evaluating and reporting on IT, and cybersecurity risk to information assets as well as supporting compliance to programmes while supporting and advancing business objectives. The scope of the role includes the management of security risks as it manifests in the areas of technology, operations and strategy. Achievement of balance between information security concerns and compliance mandates is a primary objective of this role.

What you will bring

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with business managers, IT engineering and IT operations staff
  • The ability to interact with Australian Red Cross workforce, build strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and understand business imperatives
  • A strong understanding of the business impact of security tools, technologies and policies
  • Experience with common information security management frameworks, such as International Standards Organization (ISO) 27001/2, NIST, the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT) frameworks [Substitute as appropriate]
  • Familiarity with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to GDPR
  • Knowledge of and experience in developing and documenting security architecture and plans, including strategic, tactical and project plans
  • Familiarity with the principles of cryptography and cryptanalysis
  • Extensive experience in security analysis, auditing and management frameworks
