The opportunity

The Employment & Engagement Officer – Economic Participation will support Red Cross’ work in increasing those migrants in transition in economic, civic participation and belonging. They will do this through employment support that aims to create and build sustainable partnerships with employers, market the skills and experiences of migrants in transition, and open up soft entries into the Australian job market. This will also comprise of other inclusion activities, including the delivery of Community Conversations to increase community cohesion and sense of belonging within the workplace. The Employment & Engagement Officer will work to activate change for greater engagement in civic, economic and community participation for migrants in transition.

What you will bring

• Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds who have experienced multiple and complex vulnerabilities
• Proven ability to develop partnerships and opportunities with key stakeholders in the business and the private sector
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues that impact migrants in transition in the community
• Proven capacity to be adaptive and resilient and to work independently in a self-directed manner, and also as a member of a team
