Not only does Access Your Supports deliver quality support services and empower participants to achieve their life goals with the services available to them under the NDIS, Access Your Supports will also work closely with participants to implement a plan that will work.

As a behaviour support practitioner you’ll have the opportunity to join our growing behaviour support team, and join our mission to empower participants. Day-to-day, you’ll work with your participant caseload, delivering a high quality service.

You will report directly to the Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner where you will be offered regular guidance, supervision (both clinical and peer) and ongoing support.

What Behaviour Support Practitioners do at AYS

  • Provision of behaviour support therapy to individuals and families according to the NDIS Commission Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
  • Utilise a holistic, person-centred approach, collaborating with the participant and their support team.
  • Ensure a high level of communication, both written and verbal, to enable the development of a strong rapport with clients.
  • Compilation of Behaviour Support plans, functional behavioural assessment, reports and letters for NDIS participants, other health professionals inline with NDIS reporting requirements.
  • Maintain records, following company policy and within expected timeframes that clearly document activities undertaken and ensure all documentation is comprehensive, factual and complies with relevant legislation, professional guidelines and organisational policies

Selection criteria

The must haves (on paper):

  • Must be assessed as a core level practitioner as per the PBS Capability Framework
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License
  • Cleared Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Cleared NDIS Worker Screen Check

The must haves (in experience):

  • Ability to demonstrate your knowledge of behavioural assessment tools and intervention strategies
  • Experience working with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and in the disability sector
  • Familiarisation with lodging behaviour support plans on the NQSC portal
