Australians for Affordable Housing is a campaign established in 2011 by national housing, welfare and community sector organisations to highlight the problem of housing affordability in Australia.

Australians for Affordable Housing are seeking an experienced campaign manager to drive the campaign and act as the campaign’s media spokesperson.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high profile role, delivering media stories on critical housing issues and contribute to positive social change in Australia.

The successful candidate will:

• act as the campaign’s media spokesperson to promote issues of affordable housing in Australia, and the policies needed to address them;
• develop and pitch media stories on housing affordability to print and television media, draft media releases and opinion pieces and secure media coverage for the campaign; and,
• develop innovative online campaign activities and content through the campaign website, facebook page and twitter account.

We’re seeking applications from candidates who:

• have a track record of working with the media in Australia;
• possess a sound understanding of social and economic policy; and,
• hold a relevant tertiary qualification in communications, journalism or social policy.
