About This Role

YWCA Australia is currently seeking a dedicated Case Manager to join our Women of Worth Program. This role is offered on a full time basis on a maximum term contract ending on 30 June 2020 and is based in Darwin.

The Women of Worth (WoW) program supports women involved in the justice system to implement positive lifestyle changes, re-engage with the community and reduce re-offending. WoW is a voluntary program that provides 6 months pre-release and up to one year post-release support. The Case Manager will work alongside women to prepare for the upcoming release, develop skills and capacity to reduce reoffending and provide practical assistance to reengage with the community.

About You

The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds and with linguistic needs.
  • Experience promoting high quality case management, and delivering targeted specialised client services based on individual case management and intervention.
  • Experience developing co-operative working relationships with external agencies and providers to optimise client service delivery and referral as necessary.
  • Ability to apply an understanding of the responsibilities associated with working with all clients including confidentiality, duty of care, mandatory reporting, other relevant legislation and professional conduct.
  • Ability to apply a high level understanding of the personal context of domestic violence, mental health, AOD and the interface with the police and justice system to working with clients.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to a range of remote communities in the Top End, sometimes for multiple days.
  • Hold a valid Senior First Aid Certificate, NT Driver’s Licence and Working with Children (Ochre) Card and complete a YWCA Fit 2 Work Check.
  • Strong supporter of Women’s Rights and willing to push the boundaries.
  • Team player who is approachable with strong interpersonal and listening skills together with the ability to empower.
  • Results focused, self-motivated and a self-starter who goes above and beyond.
  • Doesn’t settle, strives for continues improvement and has a high level of integrity.

This position will require the applicant to satisfactorily complete a national criminal history record check and hold the relevant state based working with vulnerable persons permit prior to employment.
