Who we are?

IWDA is the leading Australian agency entirely focussed on women’s rights and gender equality in the Asia Pacific region. We are international, feminist and independent.

Beyond the impact we have in the world, we are well known for our supportive, friendly and inclusive team culture. Working with IWDA sees you working alongside a team of intelligent, driven and passionate women who genuinely live our values of Feminism, Accountability, Collaboration and Transformation every day.

An opportunity you will love

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for team management and supporting and enabling IWDA’s Program Managers in their work with partners as part of the Women’s Action for Voice and Empowerment (WAVE) program.

The WAVE program is funded by the Government of the Netherlands through its Funding Leadership Opportunities for Women (FLOW) Program. It is a civil and political participation program for women, operating across five diverse and challenging country contexts in Asia and the Pacific: Myanmar,
Cambodia, Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea, and Solomon Islands. IWDA is partnering with 16 women’s human rights organisations to deliver this program. The WAVE program runs over five years: 2016-2020.

The WAVE program seeks to support women to lead transformative, sustainable change towards gender equality, enabled by strategic feminist engagement. The program intends to increase individual women and young women’s political, economic and social leadership; change inequitable legal, policy and economic frameworks; strengthen a vital, visible and vocal women’s movement; and ensure that evidence of how change towards gender equality happens informs and influences individuals, institutions and movements.

The Senior Program Manager drives systematic approaches to program development and implementation, financial management, advocacy, monitoring, evaluation and learning. The Senior Program Manager leads the WAVE program, ensuring the delivery of contractual obligations and an integrated program as well as ensuring that program planning and innovation is in line with IWDA’s Strategic Plan, organisational goals and standards.

Why you will excel

  • You have demonstrated success managing and designing complex programs including donor liaison, planning, evaluation and reporting.
  • You posses strong financial acumen as demonstrated through managing complex multi-country, multi-donor budgets.
