  • Full-time position for a 12 month term, based in Melbourne CBD

Good Shepherd Microfinance is a leader in financial inclusion products, programs and advisory services. We offer safe, fair and affordable financial programs to people on low incomes and advisory services for governments, businesses and other organisations. Our purpose is to enable economic wellbeing for people on low incomes, especially women and girls.

As a part of this important work, the Financial Inclusion Action Plan (FIAP) program is an innovative national collaboration between the Department of Social Services (DSS) and Good Shepherd Microfinance (GSM). The aim of the program is to build equitable, inclusive and resilient Australian communities. Financial Inclusion Action Plans enable organisations to commit to practical measures to improve financial inclusion and financial resilience through their product/service offerings as well as their interactions with their clients, employees, suppliers, partners and the wider community.

What will be your key focus?

Reporting to the Program Consultant, you will work closely with internal and key external stakeholders including local actors from within the government, corporate, community and education sectors, in a specific place of disadvantage (the Geelong region) to increase awareness and understanding of financial inclusion. A key objective of the position is to develop and implement a place-based Financial Inclusion Action Plan (FIAP) program, in conjunction with the national FIAP program. You will do this by providing best-practice program design advice through data analysis and participatory co-design approaches. The place-based role will liaise with national FIAP program partners, including the FIAP Partnership and Advisory Groups, and the Community of Practice.

  • Previous experience in co-designing and managing programs/projects; preferably place based projects
  • Proven analytical skill and demonstrated capacity to convert data into insights that can be shared with a wide range of audiences
  • Experience in multi stakeholder engagement with an ability to build strong relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse stakeholders; preparing program reports etc.
  • Demonstrated capacity to organise and facilitate workshops
  • Demonstrated initiative, and ability to work both independently and in teams, in a highly collaborative environment
  • The capacity and commitment to work in alignment with the values of Good Shepherd Microfinance
