Why our team needs you

Are you looking to work on wicked problems? We have an opportunity in the role of Strategic Projects Officer to develop an updated strategic response to climate change and long-term tree management. This role will have an environment focus and work closely with teams who:

  • Deliver tree advice and arborist services
  • Provide sustainability projects and programs focused on climate change adaptation and mitigation
  • Protect and enhance the environment and biodiversity of the municipality

As part of the Strategic Projects team, you will be working collaboratively across a range of disciplines to provide expert direction, support, coordination and delivery of priority projects and strategic tasks.

  • Salary from $92,755 per annum (Band 7), plus superannuation
  • Temporary Full Time - 8 Months
  • Monthly RDO available

What you’ll bring to our team

  • Skills in working with, and engaging a range of stakeholders; strong collaboration skills and an ability to work across disciplines; a talented writer who is able to communicate complex issues and potential responses.
  • Qualifications in environmental management, ideally within a local government context.
  • Experience in project management, drawing research from a variety of sources and developing policy and/ or strategic direction.
