The Open Door and Flagstaff Accommodation service

Flagstaff and The Open Door are 2 residential accommodation services in West and North Melbourne providing 102 beds to homeless adult males who are referred to the facility through Launch Housing, Rough Sleeper programs and Day Centres. The facilities operate twenty four hours a day, seven days a week with a team of Community Support staff and Case Managers providing a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Adult Services

Adult Services is the largest social programme network within The Salvation Army and provides a broad, integrated range of services to the most disadvantaged adults experiencing homelessness in Melbourne’s Central, Inner Northern and Western metropolitan areas.

The role

The Team Leader coordinates and supervises a team of Case Managers. The Case management Team support both residential and outreach clients to assist them in securing and maintaining safe, affordable and long-term housing. The role works across the 2 residential sites of Flagstaff and The Open Door assisting clients to develop individual case plans supporting them in achieving their goals.

The Team Leader is part of a collaborative case management and community of support team working from a Trauma informed, strength based person centred approach.

Selection criteria

  • Relevant tertiary degree or experience
  • Experience working with people with complex needs and/ or homelessness and housing
  • Experience in leading and developing teams


  • SCHCADS Award, Social Stream Level 6 (Pay point determined on experience)
  • Salary Packaging of up to $15,990 pre tax
  • Monthly RDO
