Job Details

  • 18 month maximum term full time position available (part time negotiable)
  • Located in a modern office at Heatherton

About the business

South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN) has the key objectives of:

  • Increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes, and
  • Improving coordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time.

About the Community

SEMPHN is looking to grow its engagement and connection to the community within our catchment. The catchment stretches from St Kilda to Sorrento and as far east as Bunyip, including the major population hubs of Monash, Dandenong, Moorabbin, Caulfield, Cranbourne, Frankston and Pakenham.

About the role

The Community Engagement Officer will help build sustainable and positive relations with communities within our catchment.

This role also involves collaboration, focus and prioritising SEMPHN’s current and future Reconciliation Action Plans (RAP), attendance at community events, as well as presenting and facilitating our cultural awareness training.

About you

We are looking for someone who is community focused, with understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within our catchment, with good communication and writing skills. Strong stakeholder engagement and planning skills are critical to this role.

Organisational time management and prioritising skills are also an important part of this role.
