The Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) is the national peak body representing Australia’s 31,000 pharmacists working in all sectors and across all locations in Australia. We are seeking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated Instructional Designer to join our Program Delivery team. Preference is for the role to be based in Canberra to work alongside the current Instructional Designer, but consideration may be given to applications from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. This role is full time and will report to the Manager, Continuing Professional Development.

The role is responsible for creating engaging learning activities and content in consultation with subject matter experts and other members of the Program Delivery team to complete the learning design of projects that meets the target audiences training needs.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to address the following selection criteria:

  • A tertiary qualification in e-learning technology or instructional design and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training;
  • An excellent knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design best practices and assessment techniques;
  • Demonstrated experience designing highly interactive, multimedia instructional content and a strong desire to utilise new technologies;
  • Experience in using Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle) and a range of desktop publishing and authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate and in HTML, Flash, CSS, SCORM
  • Experience audio editing software including Audacity and Adobe Audition;
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain networks and contacts and maintain relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
