Life Without Barriers is a leading social purpose, not for profit organisation of 5,600 employees working in more than 440 communities across Australia. We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers.
We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.
We are currently offering a traineeship open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to join our team in either Launceston or Hobart. The position is full or part-time with a maximum term basis of up to 12 months.
As our Aboriginal Community Support Worker, Trainee, you will receive on-the-job training whilst studying towards your Certificate III or IV in Community Services (or similar), and will work as part of a team to facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with service users in a positive and proactive environment across sectors which may include disability, mental health and youth support.
All positions within Life Without Barriers will be required to undergo probity checks including criminal record checks and hold Tasmanian Working With Vulnerable People Registration.
