Join Australia’s leading disability service organisation and engage with people who are truly committed to what they do. We have a Financial Accountant contract role based at our Belrose office in Sydney covering maternity leave to February 2020.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely financial accounting services to HWNS teams and management, with a heavy focus on payroll.

To be successful in this role, you will have advanced excel, numeracy and analytical skills, ability to prioritise tasks and resolve issues quickly, have a team player attitude and strong customer service skills. Experience in accounting for payroll will also be highly regarded.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate, consistent and timely internal and external reporting.
  • All payroll related balances, processing and reconciling material fortnightly and monthly pay cycle and month end processes.
  • Timely reconciliation of all payroll related balance sheet balances, including leave entitlements and superannuation.
  • Assist with external audits as required
  • Be the first point of contact in the Finance team for all payroll related enquiries including (posting payroll journals and payroll related balance sheet reconciliations, superannuation and workers compensation, annual wage estimates)
  • Set up of new entity payroll and processes
  • Assist payroll team as required with calculations and payments
  • Support ad hoc financial reporting projects, such as standardized reporting, faster month end close process, and reporting system implementations
  • Assistance with the development of new ERP system.

Key Criteria:

  • Degree qualification
  • CA, CPA professional qualifications
  • Highly organised with attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding numeracy and analytical skills
  • Advanced excel skills including Pivot tables/charts
  • Experience with Great Plains not essential but highly desirable
