PalAssist is a Queensland wide 24 hour accessible online and telephone service that is free for anyone who has a life limiting illness or condition, and/or their families and carers. We provide accurate information, referral advice and compassionate support to those dealing with any life-limiting or terminal illness.

PalAssist is operated by a growing team of experienced nurses and allied health professionals. We understand that every person’s journey is different and offer individualised support and advice to our clients. PalAssist is funded by Queensland Health and provided by Cancer Council Queensland.

About the role

The PalAssist Coordinator is responsible for supporting the service expansion and delivery of PalAssist, a Queensland-wide support service that provides information, emotional and practical support, and referral advice to clients, caregivers, families and the general public in relation to palliative care in Queensland. The position is a fixed term contract until 30 June 2020. 

The PalAssist service operates between 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week. These new part-time positions (16.5 hours/week) provides an opportunity for a skilled and compassionate health professional to support clients with a life limiting illness or condition, their families and carers.

Rotational Rostered hours will be between 7am – 7pm, 7 days a week. 

There are two Part-time (16.5 hours per week) positions being advertised for this role in our office in Fortitude Valley. 

About you

To be successful, you must have a tertiary qualification in nursing or allied health and equivalent experience or post graduate qualifications in palliative care. You will have experience in providing psychosocial care to people with a life limiting or terminal illness, including cancer.
