Summary of program and its objectives:

Shared Services is a central function that provides support across the organisation with a focus on developing the numbers, breadth and depth of the Brotherhood’s supporters. This division is made up of four key areas:

  • People & Culture
  • Volunteer Services
  • Information Technology
  • Assets & Facilities

Volunteer Services is a central service providing support to managers to recruit, onboard, manage and engage volunteers. Volunteer Services also manages the compliance of volunteer records including all police, working with children and other checks. In addition, Volunteer Services coordinates centralised recognition of volunteers, training on volunteer management in an annual cycle and leads best practice in volunteer workforce development across the Brotherhood.

Main responsibilities of the role:

The Volunteer Services Officer is responsible for the registration and compliance of all new and existing volunteers. The Volunteer Services Officer provides first point of contact for external and internal enquiries and records all communications connected with the registration and checks process.

To meet the selection criteria, candidates will require:


  • Excellent attention to detail, and the capacity to create and maintain accurate records
  • Proven experience in a similar position providing high level customer services and administration support
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in maintaining both electronic and hard copy filing systems
  • Well-developed computer literacy skills with demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS Office suite of programs including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and liaise across all levels both internally, externally and with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Team player with the ability to manage operational responsibilities and project outcomes simultaneously
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems and make appropriate recommendations
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan workload, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of and empathy with the values and ideals of the Brotherhood.


  • Previous experience in Payroll/HRIS systems/databases. 

This is a full time position working 38 hours per week.

Salary will be in the range of $52,876.57 -  $57,700.19 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation. Attractive salary packaging provisions are available to increase take home pay.
