Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is one of Australia’s leading not-for-profits and has a long history of powerful advocacy and programs that support all Australians affected by breast cancer. Our purpose is to ensure that all Australians affected by breast cancer receive the very best support, information, treatment and care.
With a membership of over 130,000 people, BCNA helps those who have been diagnosed and those around them. We are looking for talented people who want to empower change for our members, people and our communities.
We provide information and support through services such as the Helpline, opportunities for our network members to connect in a meaningful way, and a voice for women and men diagnosed with breast cancer.
An excellent opportunity has become available for a compassionate, skilled and flexible health professional with oncology, palliative care or Breast Care Nurse qualifications and experience to join our dynamic Member Services team who work on the BCNA Helpline. The Helpline team serves as the first point of personal connection with BCNA for people affected by breast cancer looking for information and support. The Helpline receives around 14, 000 calls per year, not only from people diagnosed with breast cancer, but from partners, family members, friends, and colleagues. The Helpline team connects with the needs of the caller at that moment in time, providing understanding, guidance, and personalised information and referral to resources most relevant to their needs. The unmet needs and concerns of callers are used to inform the advocacy, connection and program agendas of BCNA.
The Cancer Helpline Nurse role will enable you to use your knowledge of the health system, breast cancer treatment pathway, and advanced interpersonal skills to contribute to BCNA’s goal to improve the care for Australians affected by breast cancer.
